Farm Bureaus ignite Ag education and community spirit

The American Farm Bureau Federation annually honors county Farm Bureaus for their commitment to promoting agriculture and fostering community ties. In 2022 and 2023, several counties stood out for their exceptional, volunteer-driven initiatives.
Mercer County Farm Bureau, Kentucky, organized a Farm Bureau Market Night, emphasizing the importance of buying local through an interactive market experience that drew over 250 attendees and featured eight local vendors.
Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau, Missouri, introduced agriculture to new audiences with a "Choo Choo Choose Agriculture!" train ride, doubling the event's capacity due to popular demand. The day was filled with agricultural activities and educational programs, reaching over 150 community members.
In Nevada, Clark County Farm Bureau's small agriculture conference equipped urban and small-scale farmers with valuable knowledge on a variety of agricultural topics, offering breakout sessions, panel discussions, and insights into USDA programs.
Ohio's Fayette County Farm Bureau targeted urban residents with "Farm to Fork Goes to Town," an event that combined education with culinary creativity. Participants learned about local food production as they assembled their butter boards with products from seven stations.
Fulton County Farm Bureau, Ohio, hosted "Tomato to Table," a breakfast event on a tomato farm, where over 3,000 attendees learned about food production and environmental care, featuring 17 educational stations.
Finally, Okmulgee County Farm Bureau, Oklahoma, engaged the public with a county ag tour, providing a behind-the-scenes look at farming operations and fostering direct connections between farmers and the community.
